It's Not Selfish to be Your Best – Steve D'Annunzio

It is only when a seed grows that it can produce more seeds.
It is only when you express joy and abundance in your own
life that you can help others to know joy and abundance in
their lives.

To make yourself miserable for the sake of helping others
will serve no useful purpose at all. The best way to be of
service to others is from a position of strength and
fulfillment rather than from a position of weakness and
despair.

The goals and dreams and desires that are so undeniably your
own are yours for a reason. They are showing you, and at the
same time compelling you, to make the most of your life.

It is not selfish to be your very best. What's truly selfish
is to let your enormous potential go unrealized.

What have you always wanted to know, always wanted to have,
always wanted to do, and always wanted to be? It is never
too late to honestly answer that question, and to answer it
with all the colorful detail and passion that it deserves.

For in the answer to that question is your own truly
beautiful and unique gift to life. Never stop reaching for
the best you can imagine; for when you fulfill your highest
possibilities, you raise the whole world up with you.

What Role Does God Play In Our Money?

by Beau Henderson

One of the great things about what I do on the RichLife Show is that I get to answer YOUR money questions live every Saturday! Here's a few that came in since last week's show (and we will be answering as many of them as we can this coming Saturday – so be sure to listen in at 12:00 pm EST :)):

From Sara – Beau, I'm finally in the black this year with my small business for the FIRST TIME IN 3 YEARS!!! I'm a little nervous about the way the economy is going right now. What are the best options for investing in 2012?

From Steve – Hey Beau!! Thanks for all you do in our community!! Got a quick question for you! I got laid off from my job last year. What should I do with the money in my 401K? I sure could use that money right now!! Thanks again. I love listening to your show.

Last week I got a question from one of our listeners that was not a typical financial planning question. The question was "What Role Does God Play In Our Money?" Wow … what a HUGE question, don't you think? And, the answer to that question starts with the revelation of a secret. The secret is …

You Own NOTHING!

God owns all of your possessions!

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;

the world and they that dwell therein! ~ Psalm 24:1 (KJV)

From Bud Harris –  Great show today, Beau. If you believe in God and consider yourself a Christian, then God has authority over EVERYTHING in your life… greenbacks included.

My co-host Joy Allgood made an excellent point on the show. When you first start your day and grab that first cup of coffee, WHO do you think just bought coffee? Every breath you breathe, everything you do is because of God!

Every day people ask, "What do I want to do with this money?", "What do I want to do with these things?", "What do I want to do with my life?" When the context of those questions changes to "What should I do with God's money?", "What should I do with everything He has blessed me with?" EVERYTHING changes. And that change starts creating favorable conditions for the success you really want. The price for that success is that you have to allow yourself to give up control.

It really has very little to do with the money in your bank account, the money in your wallet or pulling out your debit card. It has to do with things that often times we take for granted, like the gas in your vehicle and where you are going in that car. Everything needs to glorify God!

I am going to take a very big risk over here and speak very bluntly. You have got to get over yourself and realize that YOU OWN NOTHING! God owns all of your possessions which are all just temporary things anyway! God truly is in control of everything and we are simply managers of what He has entrusted us with.

The Lord does just as He pleases –

however, wherever, whenever ~  Psalm 135:6 (The Message)

This ties in perfectly with what we spoke about on the first RichLife show of the New Year with Elise Adams and Dr. Bill Lampton! Many times God will use bad situations to the ultimate good  of us as individuals, everyone concerned and for the greater whole. There is scripture throughout the entire Bible that gives direction on everyday situations. Over 2,350 verses in the Bible are about money. That's how important money is, was, and always will be. The Scripture provides money wisdom that can be traced back thousands of years about – earning, spending, saving, giving back, getting out of debt, investing, budgeting, and alot more!

God is in control. This is Life School. Sometimes we just have to trust Him! Sometimes bad things happen, there is no getting around that, but it really all comes down to what you do with it when bad things do happen! Life is a school! And how you respond to things will determine the outcome! If you choose to focus on God and what He wants, your outcome will be favorable! Remember – there is no such thing as failure, there is only feedback and there are no mistakes, only valuable lessons. The only way something becomes a mistake is if you don't learn the lesson and move forward.

God provides for all of us! God is very predictable in providing for our needs. What we have a hard time with is that we can't predict how He is going to do it. It may not look like how we think He should do it and that's where things get tough for us sometimes. It has everything to do with TRUST and FAITH! For many people, the test over the past couple of years has been to get clear about the differences between what we NEED and what we WANT. If we trust that God always gives us exactly what we need, our wants go by the wayside – especially now during these interesting economic times.

It is very interesting to take the approach

"I KNOW that I am going to be ok.

I don't know exactly how, but I KNOW I will be ok."

There's alot of peace to be found in that!

We are called to be good Stewards and managers of what we have been entrusted with – big or small – and our responsibility, what we are called to do, is to be faithful. We are called to be faithful regardless of the amount of what we are given – large or small – in every area. You may be tithing 10% already, but alot of times what is more important is what you do with the other 90%. We are called to be good stewards of not just money and with our tithing, but with our relationships, our job and work … EVERYTHING that He has blessed us with!

Remembering to be faithful in the little things is critical to being a good Steward. Here are just a couple of examples:

If you want to see how your child is going to treat a car, take a look at how he treats his bicycle.

If you  want to see how an employee is going to be competent to serve a large client, observe how he treats a small client. Are they doing a great job and being the best steward they can be or are they behaving like this isn't worth my time because I am looking for bigger things?

Good Stewardship Gives Us A PRICELESS ASSET – Peace of Mind 🙂

When you are doing all the things we just talked about, you are doing the things you can control and you are trusting and letting go of the rest. The peace of mind that gives to someone is PRICELESS!
